The mainstream choices for glass greenhouse covering materials are diffusing glass and anti-reflective glass. These types of glass are mainly available in the following specifications:
1. Light transmittance: 91.5%, 97.5% (Recommended)
For high-standard greenhouses, anti-reflective glass with 97.5% light transmittance is recommended. Diffusing glass with 91.5% light transmittance is also sufficient.
2. Thickness: 4mm (Recommended), 5mm
4mm glass is recommended. Compared to 5mm, 4mm glass has 1% higher light transmittance, and it is also cheaper.
3. Haze: 50 haze, 70 haze (Recommended), 30 haze
Currently, the haze specification used in Dutch greenhouses is mostly 70 haze, with 50 haze and 30 haze also being common.
4. Dimensions: 2m x 1m x 4mm (It is recommended to consult with the factory to inquire about sheet shortages, size design, etc.)
The dimensions of greenhouse diffuser glass and anti-reflective glass need to be discussed with the glass factory in advance before design to improve glass cutting efficiency and avoid sheet shortages.

Greenhouse diffuser glass and anti-reflective glass have the following functions:
High light transmittance, long lifespan, high safety, full fog resistance, and no dripping.
High light transmittance ensures sufficient light source inside the greenhouse, and the higher transmittance in the light wavelength range required for crop growth leads to a more significant increase in greenhouse crop yield.
Long lifespan refers to the stability of the light transmittance of the anti-reflective glass due to the etching coating process. Because the coating layer is as hard as the glass, it is more durable, and the light transmittance will not decrease.
High safety ensures the safety of greenhouse workers and crops, exceeding national safety standards. In the event of spontaneous breakage of tempered glass in a greenhouse, the particle size is >60 pieces within a 5-square-meter room.
The full-haze characteristic ensures that the hemispherical light transmittance remains at a consistently high standard in every region. This high hemispherical light transmittance guarantees uniform light distribution within the greenhouse.
Furthermore, the haze characteristic ensures more even light distribution to crops inside the greenhouse, providing sufficient light for vertically grown crops and those at the bottom.
The anti-drip characteristic ensures that even in high-temperature and high-humidity environments, condensation will not form on the top glass; instead, the glass will dry quickly, preventing water droplets from the greenhouse roof from reducing crop yield.
Established in 1978, Yuhua Greenhouse Glass boasts China’s first production line for ultra-clear solar-grade roll glass with independent intellectual property rights. Our products cover 8 haze levels and 16 product categories, with light transmittance exceeding 99%, placing us at the forefront globally. We maintain long-term partnerships with large greenhouse project companies such as Havecon, Van Der Hoeven, and Kubo. Our customers are located worldwide, and our products are exported to Europe, North America, the Middle East, Australia, and other regions. In China’s high-end intelligent greenhouse projects, our glass holds a 70% market share, and we have supplied over 40 million square meters of greenhouse glass for such projects globally.
